We got Julie to come to Bronx this July for pitching clinics. Below is her bio.
Julie Bolduc
is the owner of and pitching instructor for Julie Bolduc’s Pro Pitch, Inc., where she and her staff train over 80 students
weekly. She has taught and trained hundreds of athletes since 1995, and annually hosts her full-to-capacity Pro Pitch
Girls Summer Softball Camps where she directs a staff of 15, each with different areas of expertise, who work with about 100
students per week. She currently serves as the pitching consultant for Adelphi University, and has previously consulted
for Queens College, Stony Brook University, St. John’s University and University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
With
more than 25 years of playing and consulting experience, Julie is a dedicated and constant student of the mechanics of pitching.
A devotee of the Women’s College World Series, Julie attends annually and continues to build her archive of photographs
and video footage of some of world’s best pitchers, digitally capturing the commonalities in their mechanics which she
then uses as a teaching aid for her students.
Julie Bolduc’s playing accomplishments have been unparalleled.
Julie was a pioneer in womens sports, in the era before today’s steller US Olympic Womens Team Sports and the subsequent
high profile player endorsements. In her home state of Connecticut, Julie blazed a trail for the female athletes who
would follow in her, setting 3 national pitching records while still in high school. As an undergrad at Adelphi University
in Long Island, Julie consistently broke records with the most wins, most shutouts, most strikeouts, most saves, most consecutive
victories, lowest ERA, most no-hitters, most perfect games, and most World Series appearances and victories. Here are
some highlights from her playing career:
Julie was the first pitcher in NCAA history to throw a complete Perfect
Game in the College World Series against Utah State in 1984.
In 1985, Julie led the nation in strikeouts (337).
That
same year, she earned the third-best ERA in the nation (a miniscule 0.24!), and her pitching staff ended the season as second
best in the nation (0.28).
Julie had the fifth-best ERA in the nation, leading the Panthers to back-to-back
fifth-place finishes in the NCAA Womens College World Series in 1984 and 1985.
Pitching for the world-famous Raybestos
Brakettes, Julie led them to victory in the 1984 World Cup Games.
Throughout her career, Julie has received
many honors and awards:
Honored by the State of Connecticut as Female Athlete of the Year (1984).
Inducted
into the Connecticut Softball Hall of Fame (1990).
Inducted into the Adelphi University Hall of Fame (1996).
A
graduate of Adelphi University (1987), Julie holds a BS in Science, a Masters Degree in Social Work and is a LMSW (Licensed
Master Social Worker). Julie currently resides in Long Island where, when she isn’t walking her Labrador Retrievers,
Chloe and Ruby, she loves to garden and fish.
